Average check

The metric shows how much, on average, one client request brings in.

We sum up the client’s revenue for the period and divide it by the number of paid requests.

What is not included in the calculation:

  • orders without payment
  • unclosed orders with statuses “New”, “In progress”, “Deferred”, “Ready”
  • sales for which payment has not been processed

Let’s take the client Ivanov I.I. During the period there were two requests:

  1. A closed order with partial payment.
  2. A sale with full payment.

We calculate separately:

  • Closed order
    Revenue for the order = $2000 – $200 = $1800
  • Sale
    Revenue for the sale = $1500 – $0 = $1500

Total for the client:

Total revenue = $1800 + $1500 = $3300

Number of requests = 2

Average check = $3300 ÷ 2 = $1650

Total revenue: $3300; Number of requests: 2; Client average check: $1650
