Inventory cost price

Displays the total cost of all products in stock based on current inventory.

To calculate the cost of products in stock, the current stock quantity is multiplied by the product’s cost, and then the costs of all products are summed.

Not included in the calculation:

  • products with zero stock;
  • products without cost;

Let’s take a current inventory with five products:

  1. Product A: stock — 5, cost — $20
  2. Product B: stock — 2, cost — $15
  3. Product C: stock — 3, cost — $40
  4. Product D: stock — 19, cost — $10
  5. Product E: stock — 2, cost — $150

Calculate separately:

  • Product A:
    Cost — 5 × 20 = $100

  • Product B:
    Cost — 2 × 15 = $30

  • Product C:
    Cost — 3 × 40 = $120

  • Product D:
    Cost — 19 × 10 = $190

  • Product E:
    Cost — 2 × 150 = $300

Total:

Total cost of all products — 100 + 30 + 120 + 190 + 300 = $740

Inventory cost price: $740
